BELANGER CHIROPRACTIC LIFE CENTER

Meet Our Doctor:  Sheila Belanger, D.C.

Dr. Sheila Belanger is a licensed chiropractor who uses a unique upper cervical technique known as Atlas Orthogonal (pronounced Or-thog-o-nul) Chiropractic.  This technique gently and very specifically adjusts the first bone in the spine.  Dr. Sheila graduated cum laude from Life University School of Chiropractic in Marietta, Georgia in 1997.  She has practiced in the Conyers/Covington area since July 1997.  Additionally, Dr. Sheila earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio in 1983.  She grew up in Maine and has lived in New Jersey, Texas, California, Ohio and Georgia.  Dr. Sheila also spent two years in Taiwan while her husband was stationed there with the Air Force.  After her husband's death, her purpose in life was to raise her children and finish her undergraduate degree.  Her greatest pleasure is watching someone blossom out of a long term condition into full function and enjoyment of life or to see a healthy person reach a new level of function with just a little fine tuning of their spine.

Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic, developed by Dr. Roy W. Sweat, focuses on the first vertebra in the neck just under the head.  When this bone is out of place by even a millimeter, it can cause pressure on the spinal cord, which can affect any and all functions of the body.  All the information the body needs to function comes out of the brain and down the spinal cord.  When there is pressure on the nervous system, in the cord or in the peripheral nerves, the body cannot function at its optimum level.  As with all chiropractic techniques, each adjustment removes this nerve pressure and boosts the immune function of the body, allowing the body to reach its highest potential.
